Elite Surface Infrastructure was the General Contractor for this project which ranged in location throughout Dinosaur National Monument. Dinosaur National Monument is located from Vernal, Utah all the way east to Maybell, Colorado. The approximate distance from one end to the other is 100 miles.
The first part of the work on this project was re-establishing an intersection at the main visitor’s center in Utah. This included the demolition of existing roadway into the visitor’s center. Maintain flow of traffic to the visitor’s center during construction. Asphalt pavement on new road re-alignment, fine grading, signs and striping. This portion of the work was completed in two weeks.
The next part of the work was located in Colorado along the Yampa River and the damage was caused by the scouring of the river moving closer to existing parking areas. This included removing concrete and asphalt debris out of the Yampa River, demolition of existing parking lots, re-establishing new parking lots, and erosion control and seeding. This portion of the work was completed in 1 month.
